

David was born in York, PA. As a boy, he was active in the Boy Scouts earning his Eagle Scout Award. He enlisted in the USAF in 1964 and served twenty years including two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He retired in 1986 with the rank of Master Sergeant. While in the military he completed his education earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
Upon retirement from the military he worked in the Defense Industry in the area of security and safety. His career included time at Hughes Aircraft, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin Coherent Technologies where he retired as Manager of Safety and Security in January of this year.
Besides his wife, Marie Boric, David is also survived by: stepson Eric Hagen, daughter-in-law Anja, two grandchildren Kai and Mila of Boulder CO, a close nephew Michael Stephen, sisters Nancy (Tomes) Wilkinson of West Chester PA, Patricia Tomes of Dover PA, and Jean (Tomes) Thompson of Red Lion PA.
A Visitation with Reception will be held from 3:00 until 7:00pm on Sunday 9/8/13 at Olinger Highland Mortuary. A Military Service with full honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Monday 9/9/13 in Staging Area C at 12:15pm.
