Dean made the journey from the Southside of Chicago to Colorado in the early 1970s, where he built a life rich with love, family, and lasting memories. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and coach and his passing leaves an immense void in the hearts of those who knew him.
Dean is survived by his sons, Dean Korecky Jr. (Deano) and Brian Reynolds; his grandchildren, Dean Korecky III (Tre), Dani Korecky, and Cole Korecky; his brothers, Glenn Korecky and Jim Korecky; and his mother-in-law, Theresa Garcia. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Memory, who passed away on October 5, 1999. Dean is now reunited with Memory in heaven, along with his sons, Danny Korecky and John Martinez, his daughter, Renee Korecky, his parents, and his two sisters.
A man of God and family, Dean’s love for his family was unwavering. He was a devoted grandfather who took great pride in teaching his grandchildren the values of life and family. His passion for coaching and mentoring was evident in the countless hours spent guiding his sons, and more recently, his grandchildren through sports and life lessons. Whether he was coaching or cheering from the sidelines, Dean was always there for his loved ones.
Pops lived every moment for his family. He also found joy in ice fishing, coaching alongside his son, working on cars, working in the yard, caring for his grandchildren, and spending time in his cherished "shop." His big heart and willingness to lend a helping hand were just a few of the qualities that made him someone everyone could rely on.
Dean’s journey with his wife, Memory, began at Western Electric, where they met while he worked in maintenance and as a locksmith for 42 years. They married on May 17, 1980, and together built a strong, loving family. Their many road trips and adventures together are among the many treasured memories they created together. As a family, they were inseparable, supporting one another through every step of life, including countless sports events where Pops proudly cheered on his sons, and more recently, his grandchildren, along with the kids he coached.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated medical staff from Dean’s cancer team for their exceptional care and unwavering support. Their kindness and compassion brought him peace during his final journey.
Though a legend has passed, Dean’s legacy of love, devotion, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, reunite with his beloved wife, Memory, his sons, daughter, parents, and sisters.
Until we meet again...
