Esther P. Tucker

Pauline, AKA Polly, passed away June 27, 2013 at the age of 83 with her two daughters by her side. She was born Esther Pauline Rea in Deer Creek, Oklahoma to the late Beryl and Mattie Rea on May 14, 1930.

Her father had a great impact on her life. His passing left a hole in her heart. Her family including siblings Kenneth, Aldean and twin brother Paul lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas while their father worked in the oil fields.

In 1950, she married Gilbert “Bill” Tucker in Sweetwater, Texas. They had four children, Debbie, Darrell, David, and Leigh. Her new family lived in Texas and Colorado. In 1965, work took them to California, an area she truly loved. Marin County was her magical place. In Fresno, California she found a job and made enough money for a down payment on her first home. She was delightfully feisty and spirited. If she wanted something, “NO” simply was not an option.

In 1980, circumstances brought Pauline, Bill and Leigh back to Colorado. While living in Thornton, she made wonderful friendships that became like family. Roberta and Marty, Connie and David, Darlene and Joel and Mary were but a few.

She was very intelligent! Play a game of scrabble with her and you were sure to lose! She loved gardening, sewing, reading, cleaning, and lets not forget shopping! She also worked a variety of jobs, mostly sales. A very classy lady, she could do anything she set her mind too.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Tucker, and siblings Kenneth and twin brother Paul Rea. She is survived by her children Debbie Tucker, Darrell Tucker, David Tucker (Cindy) Leigh Peterson (David); sister, Aldean Andrews; half brother, Eddie (Jana); grandchildren John, Shannon, Cody, Nicole, Alexander and Jackson; nieces, nephews and her beloved four legged Schnauzer “B.J.”

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 10:00 am at Olingers Mortuary, 10201 North Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado, 80229. Reception immediately following in reception hall with inurnment at Evergreen Cemetery Broomfield, Colorado.
