With sad hearts, we announce the death of our dad, Fred Pacheco at age 98. He passed peacefully at home on Sunday, November 29, 2020 surrounded by family. Fred was born on February 16, 1922 to Juan and Annie Pacheco in Trinidad, Colorado. He grew up with six brothers and one sister.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1946. He was a World War II Veteran. He met the love of his life in 1942 and was engaged for four years because he was sent overseas. He was united in marriage after World War II to Rose (Vensor) Pacheco on April 28, 1946 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinidad, Colorado. This union was blessed with five children. Rose preceded him in death on March 7, 2008.
He worked at Lowry Air Force Base and retired from the Federal Government in 1982. He was a life long member of Our Lady Mother Of The Church in Commerce City, Colorado. He was heavily involved with the church in many capacities. He enjoyed volunteering at the church and was a man of strong faith.
For many years he did upholstery as a hobby. His family was the center of his world and loved all of us unconditionally. One of the things my mom and dad enjoyed doing later on in life after they were empty nesters was to pack a suitcase and get in the car and drive until they would stop for the evening. They never knew where they were going or what they were gonna see. They would sometimes end up in Utah, Montana, Idaho or any other place their car would take them. Dad will be remembered for his gentle and kind manner. He was always there to help anyone that needed help. He will truly be missed by family and friends.
His life will forever be cherished by the lives of his children; Barbara Codding, Valerie (Richard) Montoya, Lydia (Tracy) Jaramillo all from Commerce City, Colorado and Eloise (Patrick) Gallizzi from Cheyenne, Wyoming, daughter in law Lois Pacheco from Denver, Colorado, brother Sam Pacheco from Lockport, New York, sister Dolores Martinez from Fresno, California, sister in law Theresa Archuleta from Denver, Colorado and many nephews and nieces.
He has eleven grandchildren; Brenda Troiano, Angello Trujillo, Max Montoya, Marcus Gallizzi, Danny Pacheco, Jaime Codding, Adrienne Di Cicco, Jolene Fraire, Jayson Jaramillo, Nick Montoya and Lacy Fraire. He also has thirty great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose his son Alfred Pacheco, grandsons Jacob Jaramillo and Gabriel Pacheco, great grandsons Luke Jaramillo and Angelo Trujillo, Jr., son in law Danny Garcia, his parents and five brothers Steve, Frank, Manuel, Floyd and Arthur.
Rest in peace Daddy. We love you.
