Well my dear friend I made it through all the first with out you. There has been so many special times this past year that I would have loved to share with you. I got to marry Jon and was lucky enough to have your dad and mom there to celebrate with us. There also has been the crazy things I have done and wonder what you would have had to say. I miss you my dear friend and please continue to watch over everyone.

Well Ole' Buddy, What can I say about you that hasn't already been expressed. It's just a shame I couldn't have spent more time with you. You were always great to me, to be around and I'll miss you. It was awesome to see the tremendous outpouring of love directed at you and your family and that say's more about the character of a person and their family than any words. I am happy your pains are now joys and your memories are so abundantly beautiful, you are blessed. I, your family and loved ones will always keep you in our hearts, remember to live life to it's fullest and cherish the day we all meet again!

incurred by losing a soul like yours. You will be
missed daily, and remembered dearly. You
always brought out the best in everyone who
has been blessed enough to meet you. From
the first time Krystal brought me into the family,
you & everyone else accepted me as one of your
own, and I could honestly feel the love. It wasn't a 
party until you arrived, seeing that face everyone's
face would light up. It seems like a bad dream 
that you are no longer with us.I will always cherish 
the memories made and hold them dear to my heart. 
Thank you for being such an amazing man to Kystal,

Sitting here, thinking, dwelling, arguing, telling myself this motionless feeling, this emptiness, this dire urge to some how bring you back will all end.  I am going to snap out of it and all will be good again.  Our family will be complete.  My uncle will be home, he'll be walking in the door at any moment.  But, you wont!  You wont be there to walk me down the isle.  You wont be there to take my kids to the Flea Market and spoil them.  You wont be there to say "oooo" and "awwww" or to wonder when Aunt Betty will honestly stop buying us Life Saver books.  You wont be there...
You wont be there because the harsh nightmare we all so deeply want to erase is actually reality.
I keep trying to tell myself that you are in a better place.  No more pain, doctors or appointments.  But, no matter how many times I say it, reality just isn't fair to me!
I would give the world to spend one more moment with you.  To be able to open one more Birthday card from you or walk down one more isle at the Flea Market.  I would do anything to take this feeling we all feel away.
The love you shared with me will NEVER be forgotten.  I will hold on and cherish every memory you ever gave me and just how much you really loved me.  I promise to watch and protect my cousins just as you would.  I promise to make sure our memories of you are as fresh in our minds as the last day we saw you.  
I love you more than words can explain and tears can fall.  Your were truly an angel on earth.  May your wings spread and your spirit fly freely.  To memories never forgotten and a man that can never be replaced.  You are loved and missed more than anything.  I love you Uncle Gary!!!!

Anyone who met Gary immediately became a forever friend. He was always so accepting and welcoming. It's easy to see why he was so loved, why he was a hero to his nieces, and how one person can have such an impact on others. A Huge Bronco fan who loved to travel and party -- but his love for his family and friends was his reason for being.  My very, very deepest sympathies during this difficult time.

MooUncle Gary, I love you. I remember my spring break when we went to the art museum...boring. I remember you getting so sunburnt in Arizona and sitting in the chair in the pool, and getting lost on "Gary Street" while singing brick house! I will miss you more than I can even comprehend, especially laying on the floor with you and tossing the rolls across the table at Thanksgiving. I will miss the way you laugh and your strength and love that always prevailed no matter what was really going on, so much so that we never realized your pain. I will miss not being able to say "hi my son," every time you walk in the door. I will miss running outside to hug you when you arrive, and the way you always said "hi my baby!" I will miss those things and so much about you. We have asked so much from you, but we still have one more request, take care of us, speak to us, be with us, because we need you now more than ever. I can't wait to see you again Uncle Gary! Rest in Peace

Uncle Gary was an amazing man who brought happiness to everyone. He was always positive and inspiring. He will be forever remembered as a wonderful brother, son, uncle, friend and so much more. I love you and miss you more then my heart can handle. Rest is paradise Uncle Gary I Love You

My Dearest Brother -

Saying goodbye to you is so very difficult. I hope you know how much I love you and how much you will be missed. You really did have a generous spirit.  You were so kind to everyone and really just wanted to enjoy life!

I know the past few years really sucked. I just wish I would have been able to take away some of the pain and anguish.  You handled your problems with dignity.  Your positive outlook on life gave you the strength you needed for so very long.  You just kept on keeping on - never did you give up.

Baby Gary - I will do my best to take care of mom and dad.  They miss you so much and they are struggling.  But you know as well as I do that they are stubborn folk and they will get through this difficult time.  I know they will never forget you - none of us will.  I also know they will one day live life to the fullest again just as you would want them to.  

I also promise to look after our sister Cindy. She is carrying through on the plans you both made to your house.  I think being there helps her feel closer to you.  I think it is funny that she won't sleep in the master bedroom.  She sleeps in your chair!!  She is keeping the master bedroom for you.  I think deep down we all want to believe that this has been a nightmare and one day you will come walking through the front door.

Your nieces also miss you.  They know that you loved them and would have done anything for them.  It is going to hard to be hard to look after them like you would but I again promise you to do my best.  I know they all feel your presence and know they can talk to you when they need Uncle Gary.   I just hope I have enough money in my pocket when we go the the flea market!  

Gary - Jimmy misses you so much. He really misses his buddy.  You two were such good friends.  He has been so kind to all of us and is really looking after mom and dad.  The entire Madsen family are saddened and have been so supportive.  You were such a part of their family as well. 

Oh my brother!  I just don't understand why God called you home.  You were so loved and we all miss you so very much.  I will always keep you in my heart.  Please visit me often.  I love you.

I only knew Gary for a short time. During that time, I knew Gary was a great son, a great brother, a great uncle, and a great man. I know your family misses you an awful lot. You are in a better place now and you will always be in my thoughts.

Cousin Gary - You were the baby we always picked on and the one who got his way, but you were loved so much.  I will miss your "dog bite" to the back of my leg.  I will miss your smile. this is really sad news i knew gary from highland high school and he told me one time to keep my head held high and i would go places...send my prayers to the family he will be missed by all of his friends and family..

My deepest sympathies to the Hastings Family!  Gary made a lifetime of memories and I'm so blessed that I had the opportunity to make a few of those with him!  He was such a "Gentle Giant" and I'm glad he was a part of my life!  We kind of lost track of each other over the last few years but thought of him often!
