

He is survived by his wife, (Eddie) Sue Boysen, daughter, Jolene R. Boysen, and son, Gregory E. Boysen.
He was born in Schleswig, Iowa on January 17, 1929. He enjoyed helping people and volunteered at several places like the hospital and Meals on Wheels, and he loved to speak about it with anyone who would listen. Gerry and Sue first met and bonded over their mutual appreciation for volunteering and continued to share this throughout their happy marriage.
He leaves behind his children Jolene Renae Boysen, and Gregory Edward Boysen. Along with 13 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first Wife, Betty Jo Boysen of 59 years, his daughters Sheryl (Clark) Boysen, Connie Sue (Montoya) Boysen, and sons Roger Dale Boysen, Gerald Eldor Boysen Jr. Along with many other relatives.
Gerald will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his community. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and his legacy will live on through the countless individuals he helped throughout his life.
The visitation will be held on May 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM and funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary, located at 10201 Grant St. Thornton, CO. The burial will take place at 1 PM at Fort Logan Military Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to any charity of your choice in Gerald’s honor, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others.
Gerald Eldor Boysen Sr. will forever be missed, but his memory will remain in our hearts eternally.
