Guadalupe Acosta

Maria Guadalupe (Lupe) Elguea Peñaranda de Acosta, of Broomfield CO, passed away on the day of our Lord, Sunday, November 23rd 2025 at the age of 80. She was born October, 2nd 1945 in Mexico City, MX to Juan Elguea and Juana Penaranda de Elguea.

Lupe was full of zest for life and always had wonderful stories to share. She believed deeply in the power of education and encouraged her entire family to stay curious, keep learning, and continually strive to better themselves. She lived to serve God and her family, her maternal influence was unmatched, shaping generations with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support. She could often be found attending Mass at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church or watching over the house and helping raise her grandkids, surrounded by loved ones and friends. She was best known for her generosity, the grace she brought to every interaction, and her willingness to offer a listening ear to anyone who needed it.

Lupe is preceded in death by her loving husband Paul F. Acosta in 1995; survived by her daughter Maria Eugenia (Airam) Valdez and her step-son Jimmie (Mary) Acosta; her beloved grandchildren Liam and Mila Valdez; brother Juan Jeronimo (Gloria) Elguea; and countless nieces and nephews - all who will cherish her always.

Please join us as we honor and remember Ma. Guadalupe Acosta with love and gratitude. A Rosary will be held on Friday, December 12th at 10:30 a.m. at Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church: 900 W Midway Blvd, Broomfield, CO 80020, followed by a Funeral Mass, where we will commend Lupe's soul to the love and mercy of our Heavenly Father.

She will be laid to rest on Friday, December 12th at 2:30 p.m. at Olinger Eastlawn Cemetery: 19600 E Smith Rd, Aurora, CO 80011.
