

Harry Ranson Hamaker (Papa) passed away January 30, 2014. He was born in Ainsworth, Nebraska on July 31, 1922. Harry had two younger siblings, brother Gene and sister Gaetha.
Harry graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1939, then studied Dairy Farming at the University of Nebraska.
He worked as a welder at the shipyards of Oakland, Californina during World War II.
Harry met the lovely Wilma Sheppard at a dance in Ainsworth, and they were married in Reno, Nevada, April 10, 1946. This April would have been their 68th Anniversary.
He and Wilma had two children, daughter Carol, born August 14, 1948, and son Steve, born December 17, 1949.
Harry worked in sales for Montgomery Wards for 17 years before becoming a General Manager for Country Fair Garden Centers, from which he retired. During his tenure with Country Fair, Harry also hosted a garden radio show on Saturday mornings with garden expert Herb Gundell.
Harry was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, traveling, and gardening, and was a Denver Bronco season ticket holder since the 1960's.
Harry (Papa) is survived by his wife; Wilma Hamaker; daughter, Carol Lewis; Grandchildren, Sam and Melanie; Great Grandchildren, Taylor, Stephanie, John Tanner and Daniel (DJ); and Great Great Grandchildren, Joel, Coleton, and Mason.
