This is to all of Howard's loving family and dearest friends:
 I am Becky Lynch and I have known Howard and Lois for over 40 years. When they became members of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, we continued our journey of friendship. I found them to be caring and thoughtful servants of Christ.  
In their first few years at Good Shepherd UMC, they created and began the Good Shepherd  UMC Preschool. They participated and lead in many other community outreach projects, along with leading classes and participating and leading other groups within the body of the church. Howard has been known to send unsigned small gifts to struggling families within the church and I, as a single mother, was a recipient of he and Lois' movie passes so that my children and I could go to a movie now and then. He was a caring Christian man throughout his life. Howard, in his last months, called to visit with me and to talk about the needs of the elderly in our congregation. He was making plans on ways to meet the needs of those elderly at home, members of Good Shepherd, so that they could stay in contact and feel connected to Good Shepherd. I am sharing with you, that he never stopped thinking about others. His gift of outreach, his insightful intelligence and thoughtfulness, his wit, his grit, and his creative determined nature is what I will remember for the rest of my life. He will be deeply missed by my family and I. My prayers are for his family; as he was a beloved husband, father, sibling, uncle, son, and friend to many. He was certainly a friend of mine.

Dale and Fran Ayars shared many laughs with Howard and Lois at Good Shepherd.  His humor about many subjects spread joy in our friendship.  Fran shared some "deep thoughts" with Howard in the  Bible discussions in Sunday class and worked with Lois on the fundraising program for several years.  They both always had a smile, and positive conversations with everyone who walked in the church.  Thank you for sharing it all with us.


We only knew Howard and Lois a short time visiting them twice in their Northglenn home. When there we were treated to stories rich in history, genuine faith and Christian kindness. Howard was a rock, to all who knew him, in his commitment to Lois and his family. His passing has left a void that cannot be filled. God's blessing to his family as they carry on. May he rest in God's peace. 

He was a wonderful uncle. So glad to have seen him two years ago. So many wonderful memories. 

I am a member of Good Shepherd church and from my very first moment of walking through the doors I was welcomed by Howard and Lois.  Over the years I have shared such good times at their
house; talking about Iowa and life in general.  At Sunday school Howard was always a great addition.  I have been lucky to know Howard and benefit from his unending faith.  Thank you Howard for all you have given.  

Howard was a wonderful person that we got to know very well. We so very much enjoyed once a month playing Mexican Dominoes with Howard and Lois. We loved to hear his stories of his life growing up. 
Howard will be missed!!
We are so sorry that we are out of town and will not be able to attend his Service. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Howard was a wonderful person.  We met at Good Shepherd UMC, where he was an active member of the church and contributed much time and energy to making it a special house of worship.
