He was one of 10 children, having one sister, Ramona, and 8 brothers, Lawrence, Malcolm, Walter, Francis, Gailon, Barton and Dearold.
Ira took great pride in living in Denver for his entire life. He began working at a young age for the family business. Later in life he achieved his GED. Ira worked most of his life, and was a member of the Sheetmetal Industry for the Local #9 for 65+ years.
Ira met his wife, Mary Lee, while their children shared the same babysitters. Their marriage was special because they focused on their family and keeping their family together - "his kids", "her kids", and "our kids" - Gene, Chris, Mike, Tom, Don and Doug. Together they also have 15 Grandkids, many Great Grandkids and one Great Great Grandkid.
Ira was known for and will be remembered for the love he had for his family. Spending time with his family was one of Ira's favorite things to do, as well as collecting cars and antiques.
