Jean entered the garden of her lord peacefully, at the age of 96, at her residence in Longmont, Colorado.
She will walk with him and talk with him and then she will once again join her husband Dale I. Pickett, who died in 2010; her parents Gerald & Mary (Newton) Stanley; her grandparents Jake & Anna Mae (Davis) Stanley; Thomas R. & Betsy (Cox) Newton; her sister Coleene and husband Roy Waltman; her special Cousin Ralph Garner and his wife Theresia She will then meet her many aunts, uncles and cousins who are waiting for the family reunion.
Jean was born in Longmont, Colorado, but lived many places in her lifetime following her father who worked construction (Colorado, Arizona, California) and her husband who had a bit of wanderlust (Colorado, Alaska, California, New Mexico, Colorado). Jean moved back to Longmont in 2012 as it had always been home no matter where she lived. She also traveled extensively with her husband in their various campers to most of the United States. In 2018 Jean’s final bucket list of places to go and things to do were achieved when in May her granddaughter Pat took her to New York City and then in October her granddaughters Pat & Penny took her white water rafting on the Colorado River.
Jean is survived by her daughter Katie Moll of Mankato, Minnesota; her son Jim Pickett of Maple Valley, Washington; her daughter Jody Nelson of Longmont, Colorado. Her granddaughters, Pat Nelson of Mankato, Minnesota; Penny Nelson of Newberg, Oregon. Her grandson James Dale Pickett of Cherryvale, Kansas; step granddaughter Dawn (Mark) Perkins of Gatesville,Texas. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Russell Nelson; granddaughter Renee Pickett (Jim & Charleen); step granddaughter Tina Flink (Jim & Charleen); daughter-in-law Charleen Pickett; son-in-law Jim Moll.
Services will be held Monday, 23 February 2026. Visitation at 11 am , Graveside services 12 noon at Highland Memorial Gardens, 10201 North Grant St., Thornton, Colorado.
