John Blocker passed away at home on April 29th after a year long battle with cancer, his family was present. John was born in Washington, D.C. on May 12, 1943. He attended East High School in Denver and started his truck driving career with Howard Lorton Galleries. John retired from CF in 1998 and was a member of Teamsters Local 17. On the weekends, John had a belt & buckle business based out of the flea market.
John loved to travel, he especially loved the all you can eat buffets on the cruise ships. Retirement didn't suit John well, he missed the social interaction and soon began a shopping cart repair / retrieval business.
John is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Diane and two grandchildren Lydia and Shilo.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1pm to 3pm on Wednesday, May 13th at the First Southern Baptist Church of Northglenn, 10620 Washington St. This will be a casual gathering, with no formal service.
In leiu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Adams County 4-H.
