He was born to the late Benjimin Quintana and survived by Alice M. Gallegos , August 21, 1946 in Center, Colorado. Jose graduated from North High School in 1964. He loved music of any kind and played various instruments but was most known for his beautiful voice and his tremendous talent in playing the congas. Jose was drafted into the army in 1966 to serve in the Vietnam War. Jose is survived by two sons Justin Matthew Ditommaso and Joaquin Abraham Quintana, of Denver, Colorado. also survived by two granddaughters Anissa Mcknight and Paris DiTommaso as well as one grandson Jonas DiTommaso and one great grandson Elijah Day.
Jose was the second to the oldest of eight children, beloved brother of the late Dora Quintana who he honored by paying to have her laid to rest along side of him at the time of burial. Also survived by five younger sisters, Linda Joyce Archuleta, Martha N. Romero, Ana Chavez de Quintana, Roberta L. (Bobbie) Mascarenas, Denise E. Salas and one brother Robert Duane Quintana, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
