My mom and dad moved next door to Bill and Mary when I was 16 months old. I am now 42. I remember quite often as I was growing up that it would be amazing to have a love like theirs. Little did I know that it is extremely rare to have what they did. I was also blessed to see it with my own parents. Watching them do their yardwork together even made me happy.  They were inseparable. My heart goes out to the entire family, but especially for Bill. Knowing how my dad has been since my mom passed away, 10/2013, I know that it isn't really any different for Bill. Losing your life long love and companion has to be heartwrenching. We are happy that they no longer suffer but can't help but long for them. Mary always had my back where the neighborhood kids were concerned and even stuck up for me when my brother was, well....being a bratty big brother. I hope my mama was there to greet Mary when she went home. I will always remember our beautiful visits, drinking iced tea and an occasional Pepsi.  I feel so blessed to have been able to visit Christmas Eve 2013. You will forever be in my heart. There are so many good memories but I will miss your spunk, smile and laughter the most. Mary Burke I am so sorry you had to go. Has been years since seeing you and (Uncle) Bill. I have such fond memories of you both coming to our farm when I was a small boy and Bill working at Gardner Denver with my dad and uncle for years. You are missed already.

Nanny you will remain in my heat and I will always miss the love that you always gave to me in heaps. My love is so deep for you that the sea is jealous. I can't wait until we meet up and see eachother in heaven again.

We are saddened with your loss. Mary was a great person, and I enjoyed our talks. She is at Peace with the Lord.

You will always be remembered and missed !! We were blessed knowing you and sharing great times .

My heart goes out to Uncle Bill as I know he has lost the love of his life.  Ron and I used to enjoy seeing them riding in the truck with Aunt Mary sitting in the middle of the seat, right next to her beloved...so sweet!  

And our deepest sympathy goes out to all you kids and grandchildren.  My Mom passed away on May 1st this year and I now know first hand how deeply you are hurt.  I am so sorry.  Be assured of our love for all of you.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

As I sit here taking a stroll down memory lane, looking back at some old photographs of Nanny, I find myself conflicted between tears and laughter. Words can't even begin to describe what a wonderful person she was. I could only dream to have half the heart and soul she had. She loved unconditionally with all of her heart. She had a fun spunky side that no one could deny. She accepted me into her family the moment she met me, and she always made me feel right at home in her company. 
Nanny was something special, I will miss her dearly.
