

Born November 3, 1931 in Lexington, Kentucky, she lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Barrington, Illinois, and Palatine, Illinois. She returned to teaching after raising her children and worked in the Barrington School District for over 20 years. She was president of her Pi Beta Phi sorority at the University of South Dakota at Vermillion, member of PEO for 60 years, 20-year friend of Bill W., and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Thornton, Colorado.
Survivors include her husband Paul Whitesel, daughter Emily Cardin & son-in-law Jebb Cardin, of Broomfield, Co. , son John Douglas of North Aurora, Ill., son Rob Douglas, & daughter-in-law Christy Douglas, of Aurora, IL., grandchildren, Abbey & (Mike) Munson, Seth Cardin & (Melissa Morgan), Lacey & (Mike) Quilhot, Sam & (Katie) Cardin, Lauren Douglas, Katie, Annie, and Sarah Douglas. Great grandchildren include Jack Munson, Makayla, Mason, Amaya, & Savannah Quilhot. Nell was preceded in death by her husbands, Tomm Carver & Jack Douglas. Father, Birkett L. Pribble, Mother, Emily H. Pribble, sister Mary Larkin, and son David Douglas.
Services will be held at on 4 p.m., Thursday, January 8, at Glory of God Lutheran Church, 12200 W. 38th Ave. Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a reception immediately following at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, Prison Congregations of America, and Faith Lutheran Church, in Aurora, Illinois.
