Robert Siska (Bob), age 74, passed gently away 6-23-23 at home. He was diagnosed in 2016 with Atypical Parkinson’s, but later it was presumed he had Lewy Body Dementia. Despite a progressive loss of his abilities, he lived 7 years with good spirits.
Bob was a vibrant energetic man and had many passionate interests. He loved a variety of music, but favored the Blues. He went to many many music festivals, venues, clubs, jams, the symphony and played Blues on the electric mandolin and bass guitar. Craven Maven recording, his record company produced three albums.
Bob was a veracious reader, and considered himself a bibliophile.
Bob was a runner, running every day, and ran many 5Ks and 10Ks. He finished three marathons at age 50, 55, and 60.
Bob was a huge film buff with an encyclopedic knowledge of a wide range of movies, but especially old movies. This interest in particular brought him new friends and much enjoyment during his last years through The Turner Classic Movie Bookclub.
He was much loved by his wife, Jane Siska, children Charlotte Siska and Johanna “Jo” Bryant, granddaughter Margot Nguyen, his sister Margaret Siska and brother William Siska, extended family and friends. His sweet nature, humor, and love will be greatly missed.
A Life Celebration will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary on 7-7-23 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease; DPF.ORG/EVC-Donate or Parkinson’s Association of the Rockies or The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless.
