As a child, Susie loved to sing and dance.
Susie was previously married to, Thomas Scott, Derrick Johnson, and Steven Ford. At the time of her passing, she was married to Johnny Butler. She met Johnny through a cousin Sherri Colber, at the Biker Club. They were married in Aurora, Colorado. She and Johnny had a special marriage and they would communicate every evening at 9pm regardless of what the other person was doing. Susie has three children: Yolanda Shabazz-Scott (47), Meshun Dotson (42), and Doeshun Dotson (42). She has nine grandchildren: De'Fronce Scott, Rania Dotson, Jashawn Dotson, Precious Langford, Doeshun Dotson, Jr., Sakai Dotson, Ry'Kere Dotson, Jovan Dotson, and Jeremiah Dotson-Lewis.
Susie enjoyed making jewelry and beautiful crochet creations. She also enjoyed reading her Bible, and as a Christian, at any time she could be found with Christian programing playing on her laptop. Her favorite Bible verses being from the New Testament-Psalm 98:1; from the Old Testament-Ecclesiastes 3:1-4. One of her favorite sayings was "This too shall pass."
Susie will be remember by all for her SMILE and the support she offered to ALL. Her children will remember her huge smile, calling her "Nana", and eating crab legs on newspaper; enjoying artichokes and baked potatoes. Her husband, Johnny would like everyone to remember Susie as a very beautiful woman, loving and caring, and she loved to ride motorcycles with him. She would like to be remembered and to say goodbye with a song and a dance!
Poem by Jimmy Ray Robinson (Brother-in-Law)
If tears could build a stairway
And memories make a lane,
We would walk right up to Heaven
To bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say Good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
Our hearts, they ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.
You are with the Angels
High in your heavenly home,
We would have held you closer,
If we had only known.
Susie will be missed by all who knew and Loved her.
