Royal Franklin Sage

Royal is survived by his devoted wife, Anita, sons, Kris (Shannon) and Zach (Krista), grandchildren, Clara, Naomi, Cooper, Xander and Anastasia, and sister Diane, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty.

Royal and Anita were blessed to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in July 2023.

Family and friends were very important to him, and he was always willing to help anyone that needed it.

Royal played guitar and bass and even had the opportunity in his lifetime to tour with his band Harvest Road and play at the 1980 World’s Fair with Wynton Marsalis. He had a deep love of making people laugh while he was performing on stage. He acted in over twenty Christmas plays at West Bowles Community Church.

He shared his love of sports with many kids through coaching baseball and basketball.

He was a driver for RTD for many years and was also an instructor in the training department.

His life celebration will take place 1pm Thursday, May 23, 2024 at West Bowles Community Church, 12325 W. Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO. A "Ballpark Food Reception" (hotdogs and chips) will follow the ceremony. All are encouraged to wear their favorite sports jerseys to his life celebration as he was a big fan of all sports especially the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rockies and St. Louis Cardinals.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Royal’s memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
