Samuel Curtis Hafey passed away in Thornton, Colorado on September 27, 2014 at the age of 80. Sammy was born February 26, 1934 in Fulton, Missouri to Samuel Hafey and Alta Payne. He served in the Army and Reserves for six years before going to work at IBM for 25 years. He owned his own office services business before retiring. He moved his family to Longmont, Colorado in 1978 and maintained a residence there until 2014.
Sammy loved to fish; he and his friend Jack Nixon had an annual trip to fish for Northern Pike and Walleye in Canada. Many a fishing story came from those trips.
He is survived by his daughter Kelly Johnson, son Brian Hafey, sisters Peggy Bahr and Alberta (Pete) Baysinger and companion Joyce White. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his granddaughter Annabelle Hafey.
