OBITUARY

Samuel Charles Voige

22 May, 1952 – 20 April, 2021
IN THE CARE OF

Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery - Highland

It is with deep sorrow that the Voige Family announces the death of Samuel Charles Voige. Sam, age 68, passed peacefully with Garden Terrace staff by his side on the 20th of April 2021 in Aurora, Colorado. Sam’s family was able to travel to Colorado and spend his final days with him.

Sam is survived by his wife, Jennifer; brothers, David and John; sister-in-law, Donna; father-in-law, Dean, and brother-in-law, Greg.

Sam was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Irwin and Florence Voige. He worked for AT&T in Cincinnati, Atlanta, and Denver. He worked at AT&T for 30 years, and met his wife Jennifer there.

Sam was active at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church in Atlanta, GA and at Holy Comforter in Broomfield, CO. He sang in the church choir, Silver Singers, and was a vestry member. He volunteered for the YMCA Happy Club for Adults with Disabilities in Atlanta. Sam loved music and was a veteran concert goer.

As one friend described Sam, “For those of you who didn't have the pleasure of knowing Sam before his diagnosis of Frontal Temporal Dementia, I would like you to know that he was a devoted member of the choir, an enthusiastic volunteer, and handsome man with a smile which lit up the room and someone who gave warm "bear hugs". After his diagnosis, Sam continued to participate in church activities and sang with Silver Singers as long as he was able to do so.”

Sam lived his life according to the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Sam, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Our Heavenly Father has called his loving servant home.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11am at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Broomfield, Colorado.
