Sandy was born on October 6, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan. The daughter of Stan and Millie (Vesely) Owen. She had a younger brother Jerry and a younger sister Sally. She was married to Stuart Lauck from 1987 to 1992. She married Dave Price on August 6, 1994. She graduated from Goodrich High School in Michigan in 1977. In 1981 she moved to California and worked for Warner Brothers Records where she interacted with many folks in the entertainment industry. She moved to Colorado in 1986 settling in the Broomfield area and working a variety of jobs. She became a Chrisitan which prompted a voracious appetite to learn the truths contained in God’s Word, the Bible. After meeting Dave and combining their two families in 1994 they put their five kids into a private Christian school were Sandy joined the staff as an assistant teacher. She had found her calling. Pursuing additional education, she soon became a full-time teacher at the school where the kids went. She loved her students. She also became very active in her church, extending her love of teaching to youth in Sunday school classes and bible quiz competitions. She headed up the landscaping and grounds maintenance at her church, coordinating a volunteer staff, which encompassed some 27 acres. She was also asked by the church leadership to do biblical counseling of adult women when the need arose. She was also president of the HOA in the neighborhood where she lived.
She was an accomplished artist, photographer and craft maker. She opened her own business, Priceless Art, through which she sold her paintings, photos and craftwork. Around 2020 she joined the Louisville Art Association and shortly thereafter she was asked to join the board of directors as the treasurer. A year later she became president where she continued to serve until her death. This was her passion. She absolutely adored the work but more importantly were all the folks she worked with, many of whom became close friends.
She was a compassionate, giving and fun-loving person who cared more for others than for herself. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and lived her life as a testimony of her faith. What an amazing person!
