

Sid passed away peacefully on November 8, 2014 at Swedish Medical Center of natural causes at the age of 83. Sid was born in Pueblo, Co to parents William and Florence Whittemore on July 15, 1931. He is survived by his wife Carol; two sisters, Becky Donovan and Edith Bowman; three children, Gene Whittemore and wife Chris, Janae Weston and husband Mark, Merilee Rifkind and husband Josh; six grandchildren, Jennifer Lowther and husband Ryan, James Whittemore, Brooke and Sean Weston, Bailey and Lydia Sheldon ; and two great grandchildren, James Whittemore and Landon King.
Sid was raised on a small family farm just outside Pueblo, Co. He graduated from Union College in Nebraska and started his own accounting business in Pueblo after serving in the army. He then moved to Denver with his family and worked in the semi- trailer business until starting his own business.
Sid owned American Storage Trailers/Airdale Trailer Sales in Dupont, Co. He loved to work and continued to go to the office part time until his hospitalization in late October.
Sid had many interests that included camping and waterskiing. He was always interested in collecting rock specimens and had equipment for cutting and polishing stones. He owned an extensive collection of rocks from all over the world and belonged to the Rock of the Month Club for many years. He also had an extensive collection of commemorative and uncirculated coins. Sid also enjoyed gardening and photography.
