Susan C. Davis was born at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora Colorado on March 27, 1944 to Martha Beverly Buchtel and Lee Roy Young. She grew up in North Denver, attending Holy Family through high school. Her father Lee was active in the military, which moved the family to Germany, and it was there that she met her lifelong soul mate, SFC Larry Davis.
Susan and Larry were married in July of 1962, in Basil Switzerland. Larry was a military man, serving in the US Army for 20 years, which took them to many places around the world. After his military retirement in 1979, Susan and Larry settled back in her home state of Colorado. Susan worked as a secretary in the civil service, retiring in 2007 from the Colorado Department of Parole.
She enjoyed decorating her home with beautiful plants, and always held the family gatherings. She also enjoyed family reunions with the Davis family in North Carolina.
Susan is preceded in the death by her parents, and her beloved twins, Beverly Deniese, and Rebecca Deneise. She is survived by her doting husband, Larry; son, William (Kristin); daughter and caretaker, Judy; grandchildren, Heather (Joey), Amber, Michael and Aidan, and great-grandchildren Kasey, Keeley, Paisley, Atley, Averley, Kolter and baby Hadley.
A visitation for Susan will be held 11am-12pm, Monday, February 12, 2024 at Olinger Highland Mortuary 10201 Grant St. in Thornton, CO. The funeral service commence at 12pm, also at Olinger Highland Mortuary. Following funeral services, Susan will be interred at 2pm at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, CO 80236.
