It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of Brenda Jo, a beloved partner, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Brenda passed at the age of 75 in the early hours of Mother’s Day May 10, 2026, at her home in the loving arms of her husband Steve.
Brenda was born in Sacramento, California on November 1, 1950 to Edwin “Bud” and Ruth Eastman Goudge. Shortly thereafter, the new family moved back to Portland settling in southwest Portland where Brenda was joined by a succession of younger siblings and an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
As a teen, Brenda taught many neighborhood kids a life skill of learning to swim in her family pool in addition to working at her aunt’s clothing store. Never shy, Brenda’s personality was always very animated, funny, a live wire and fun devil in the best sense. Graduating from Wilson High in 1968, Brenda studied at SOC in Ashland before moving back to Portland where she met and married Michael Daggett in 1970, the father of her two sons Eric and Scott. After her divorce, Brenda worked in the medical field and reacquainted with her high school sweetheart Steve Graham whom she joyously married in 1991.
Brenda faced many life threatening health struggles over the years causing her to be unable to work, but she always was smiling and happy when surrounded by family. It was often said anyone’s family was her family.
Brenda is survived by her husband Steve, her sons Eric and Scott and grandson Spencer Daggett. In addition, Steve’s sons Brian and Jay (Chrissy) and his siblings Virginia, Ted and Beth.
As the eldest, Brenda held close to her heart, her surviving Goudge siblings and families:Bill (Andrea), Sheila (Martin), Chuck, and Carrie (Jim) and former sister in law Barb. She will always be Aunt Bee to Sierra (Brian), Ryan (Sarah), Ellie (Randy), Jennifer (Michael), Cole, and Paige and all their offsprings: Jolie, Teddy, Annie, Dean, Alana, Wesley and Lili. Not to forget, the numerous Eastman, Kresse, Sander and Bush cousins survive her.
Goodbye our sweet Brenda forever in our hearts. May flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest.
A life celebration will be planned for this summer.
