I worked for Don while at Tektronix in Santa Clara.   Don was a great guy to work for,  a trusted boss, always a friendly face in the office, a mentor, and an example of staying cool under pressure—-move over, Steve McQueen.
I was looking up Don for a holiday call when I came across his obituary.  I didn’t know of his passing and I’m in a state of shock.  He was a great man and as a boss he showed himself to be an honest friend.  My hope is his passing was as kind to him as he had been to me and others that knew him.  I was looking forward to a nice chat with him.  I’ll miss him.

I absolutely adored Don and am heartbroken to learn of his passing! He was such a mentor, such a very kind person, patient, with a huge heart.  Even after I left Telogy, we stayed in touch and exchanged birthday emails even after I moved out of state.  Don was a huge treasure and it's no exaggeration that I will miss him for the rest of my life.

Don was my boss and friend. I learned much from him during his time at TestEquity. He always took time out of his busy day to talk both business and personally. He was the kind of person that brought an energy into a room when he entered. He was very respected in the entire industry. Don will be greatly missed by me as-well-as everyone that knew him.

I first met Don with Dan for a job interview in Logan Airport. It was only my second job interview in over 28 years. I remember Don saying to me why are you so nervous you pretty much have the job since your bringing your knowledge of T&M and your customer base with you from then at the time Agilent.  So we finished our tea and shook hands and they both told me I'll see them in CA.
Don was the most caring person i worked with he definitely cared about our life and outcome which in turn helped the company grow. There was a time I would talk to Don once a day as TE figured out this new growth path with Keysight and how it would impact our lives first and then the companies revenue. As time went on those calls where less frequent and towards his end of his career will still made a point to connect every 3 months. I will miss these calls and may he rest in peace.

Don was a very, very special person. In all the years he worked for me he was more of a peer with the same goal of growing TestEquity in an honorable way. We spent considerable time traveling and speaking weekly. In all this time I never saw him not having fun, always 100% honest and genuine and wanting the best for the company and everyone he touched. I’ve learned a lot from Don, treasure the time with him and he will always have a special place in my heart.

Don hired me. I wanted to work with a professional and Don was the most professional businessman I've ever known, he knew the business, he knew how to handle people (the good and the bad) and he seemed to have an instinct for making the right decision.  The biggest thing is that he was genuinely interested in other people and doing what was right for them.  It is hard to overstate the impact that Don had on my life - I'm a better person because of him.

Don was a loved and respected leader at TestEquity.  Those of us fortunate  enough to work with him benefited greatly from the experience. The company, and each of us, enjoyed tremendous growth during his TestEquity years; we are all forever grateful.  Don knew everyone in the industry, connected with people on a personal level, and was successful in everything he did.  We are deeply saddened by his loss, and extend our deepest sympathies to the entire Sinclair family.
