

Born in Portland Oregon 1919, Jack moved to the Tigard area when he was 3, living all his life in the area, with winter stops in Quartzsite Arizona in his 80’s. He attended Durham School, in a one room schoolhouse.
Jack served in WWII discharging at end of the war as a Master Sargent in the US Army. He toured both Africa and Italy, serving in the motor pool, and as guard of German prisoners of war.
Working most of his life from the late 40’s to retirement in 1966 for Arrow Transportation as a fuel and oil driver, Jack drove over a million miles with no accidents, with his trusty rod and reel as his constant traveling companion.
An avid fisherman from his youth, fly-fishing the Deschutes River and all over Oregon, he loved the outdoors, rivers, streams, and lakes.
Jack knew no strangers, a colorful personality who enjoyed his life tremendously.
He is preceded in death by the 2 loves of his life, wife Betty Torland (nee Goodell, O’Rourke) and Margaret O’Rourke.
He is survived by his son Mike O'Rourke Lake Oswego Daughter In law Debby, Daughter Patricia O'Rourke Beaverton, two loving stepdaughters and a stepson, Beverly (Mark) Petry-Kembel, Linda (Scot) Fast, & Mark (Maria) Barrett, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews will all miss Jack very much.
