John A. Schallberger, 77, of Lake Oswego, passed away on Dec. 2, 2016. He was born in Silverton, Ore., on Dec. 25, 1938. John graduated from Mt. Angel Prep and continued his education at University of Portland and St. Martins. He married his wife, Katie Petzold, on Nov. 24, 1962.
John had a long career in sales of Restaurant Equipment for Western Food and Equipment and owned his own business, Western Freezer.
He was a member of The Elks and had a passion for all sports but especially the Portland Trailblazers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Katie; their children Tim Schallberger (Anne Linton) and Suzie Self; granddaughter, Chloe Self; and brother, Fr Meinard Schallberger.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 10:30am on Dec. 10, 2016 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 7007 SW 46th Ave., Portland.
