

She was born on June 23,1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Harry and Stella Walls.
Kay was diligent with her studies in high school & enjoyed being a member of the Drum and Bugle Corp. She excelled in the art of shorthand which led to a highly regarded secretary position for Philco Corporation upon her graduation.
Katherine married the love of her life, Frank W. Kerr on March 27,1948 in Philadelphia. Together they ventured west to Southern California in 1953 to start a new chapter in their lives.Kay loved being a homemaker and her goal was always to be sure her daughters led their best life. She was a talented seamstress, cook, crafter, and artist. Katherine especially enjoyed working outside in the yard, making panoramic sugar Easter eggs, decorating cakes for special occasions and most of all, loved her travels across the globe with Frank. Her Faith in God and Love of Family could never be questioned and her memory will live in our hearts forever.
Katherine was preceded in death by her sweet daughter, Diane and her beloved husband, Frank. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Bonnie (Joel) Solomon, OH; Debbie Aberle, OR; Karen (Dennis) Kern, OR; nine wonderful grandchildren, Diane Solomon, Dayna Solomon, Jami Dickerson, Nicole Lugo, Kendra (Jeff) Thibodeau, Megan Solomon, Zack (Lacy) Sullivan, Kristin (Jordan) Manns, and Danielle Kern; 9 1/2 fun-loving great grandchildren, Wes & Jay Thibodeau, Ryan, Carter & Madison Dickerson, Evan Lugo, Brooklyn & soon to arrive Renley Sullivan, and Ryder & Noah Manns.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on July 10, 2021, 2:00 at Youngs Funeral Home in Tigard, Oregon. Internment will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of their choice.
