

Mary Edith Krumsiek was born on February 17, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to Louise and Norris Booth. She was raised in nearby Lansing. As a child, she enjoyed reading which became a lifelong passion. After graduating from Sexton High School in 1967, Mary moved to Southern California. She married John E. Krumsiek on March 30, 1968 at the Church of Reflections at Knotts Berry Farm; they divorced in 1989. Mary raised three children, daughters, Marla and Kara and son, Scott. She served as Vice President of Operations at Sunset Transportation where she worked for twenty six years. Mary retired in March of 2003 and moved to Oregon in 2006. She volunteered much of her time at the Juanita Pohl Senior Center. Her hobbies as an adult included reading, piano and crafts. Mary loved to travel, but her favorite destination was always Las Vegas. Mary passed away unexpectedly at her home in Durham, Oregon on August 15, 2012. Mary Edith was predeceased by her parents and her younger brother Brian Booth. She is survived by her children, Marla Ann Sandberg, Kara Louise Sharp and John Scott Krumsiek, grandchildren, Robert Joseph Allessi, Victoria Ann Allessi, Samantha Louise Sandberg, Brookelynne Elizabeth Krumsiek, Tyler Austin Sharp, Dauson Scott Krumsiek, Emily Katherine Sharp and Mason Alexander Sharp. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Suzn Nelson. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Juanita Pohl Senior Center at 8513 SW Tualatin Road in Tualatin on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 2pm.
