Mohammad Hassan Eshraghi was born to a Baha’i family in Najaf Abad, Iran. At a young age he attended classes held by the beloved Hand of the Cause Abu’l-Qásim Faizi, who enkindled the love of Bahaullah in him. He learned the lessons of love for humanity and hard work and carried these throughout his life. He served the Baha’i community and those in need in whatever capacity he was called upon.
Mr. Eshraghi had 6 siblings. He grew up under the loving care of his father Mr. Yad’o’llah Eshraghi and his second wife Monireh, along with three of his siblings. Unfortunately, at a young age his father passed away. Therefore; as the eldest son he began working in a textile factory at the age 13 to help his mother care for his younger brothers. He worked in the same factory for 40 years and then established a factory of his own to help provide work for other Baha’i friends and family who were out of work and options in the post-revolutionary Iran. He worked hard and tried to help others along the way.
Baha’u’llah says
O MY SERVANT! The best of men are they that earn a livelihood by their calling and spend upon themselves and upon their kindred for the love of God, the Lord of all worlds.
At a young age Mr. Eshraghi joined in marriage Rouha Ferdosian. Their loving union has lasted over 68 years and produced 4 children, Nahid, Vahid, Navid, and Niknam. He and his wife provided their children with the opportunity to come to the United States for advancing their education and a better future. Due to the Iranian revolution they were separated from their children for many long years until they were able to join them and emigrate here. Since their arrival, Mr. Eshraghi has been able to be part of the lives of his children and their spouses, and have had the joy of seeing his 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Mr. Eshraghi was a gentle, loving and calm soul. He greeted every one with a big smile and loved to garden, grow plants and give others his seedlings to grow and bear fruit. He passed away at his home with peace and dignity surrounded by his loved ones, as he wanted it. He will be missed.
