

Richard V. Hinthorne
March 25, 1943 - July 31, 2010
Richard was born on March 25, 1943 in Sacramento, California. His parents were Virgil W. Hinthorne and Madeline H. Hinthorne (Perry). Richard grew up in the California area and graduated in 1961 from Atascadero High School, located in the San Luis Obispo area. After a five year hiatus, Richard was drafted into the Army; he want through boot camp at Ft. Ord, in Monterey, California. During his tour of duty in Vietnam, from November 8, 1966 to November 7, 1968, Richard was stationed in Chu Lei and Cu Chi. Richard was awarded the Purple Heart, after having been wounded by mortar attack.
On August 17, 1985 Richard married Mary Hinthorne (Harrell). They were married in Lake Forrest, California, by the lake. Over the years Richard was a member of Radio Pioneers, Rampagers football organization, and South Lake Church in West Linn. He also enjoyed fishing. Richard retired in 2010 as a vice president of a sales company.
Richard passed away on July 31, 2010 in Woodburn Oregon at the age of 67. He will be rememberd in love by his adoring wife, Mary; daughter, Cari Williams; daughter Lisa Hinthorne; son, Travis Duffey; daughter, Erin Barcarse; son, Charles Knorr; daughter, Nicole Avila; grandchildren Joe, Deven, Paige, Kristen, Samantha, Taylor, Kobin, Kalanee, Conner, Ashley, Jenna, Davey; great-grandchildren Noah, Madeline, Gavin, Bradley; and sister Victoria Schneider.
A viewing will be held for Richard on August 3, 2010 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at Willamette National Cemetery August 6, 2010 at 2:30 PM.
