Rick was dedicated to his family and was known as the Harris family historian, who searched out relatives, collected photos and stories to share. He is father to three sons: Jerrad R. Harris, Justin T. Harris and Jacob D. Harris, Grandfather to Benjamin, Samuel and Grace; Brother to Rod. A. Harris and Lisa Harris-Williams; Live-in Uncle to Skylar and Shaylah Harris.
A kind and gentle man, Rick was known for his quick wit, catchy phrases, pranks, and wonderful sense of humor. He had a large extended family of lifelong friends, many of whom worked with him when he managed Ferrell’s Ice Cream Parlour in his early 20s; half owner of Harry’s Mustache Restaurants in Oregon City with his brother; and as a longtime employee at Jake’s Crawfish he gathered many friends. His legendary poker games were his favorite hobby, shared with a close group of friends going back 44+ years. He also enjoyed fishing with his Dad, dancing with his Mom, photography, listening to music whether it was Dean Martin, or one hit at a time from Random artists, watching James Bond movies and keeping up with current news. Love in our heart stays while you may not remain upon this earth, your spirt held within the hearts of many.. Time will pass, our love for you will always remain the same.
Friends and family will honor Rick with private celebrations of his life.
