Robin touched so many lives. He will be remembered for his integrity, character, heart and his magnificent voice. He was loved and admired by all who were lucky enough to have known him.
There is simply no way to encapsulate his life in a few words. He was bigger than life. His smile and quiet intellect will be missed in a most profound way.
He passed away at home on November 13, 2023, after an intense and courageous battle with cancer. He will forever live in our hearts.
Robin was born on February 19th, 1953, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He was the oldest son of Robert and Harlean Gleason Buckner.
He graduated from Portville Central School - Class of '71 where he was a member of the football, wrestling and track team as well as a member of the student council, choir and drama club. Robin earned Eagle Scout and God and Country award while in High School. He was also a member of the Olean chapter of DeMolay.
Robins passion for music developed at a young age and lead to his leads in several musicals as well as being asked to sing in the Miss New York State Pageant for three years. He earned a Bachelor of Art degree from Southern Illinois University in 1975, followed by a Master of Music degree from the University of Arizona in 1984.
Robin is survived by wife, Sue Buckner; stepson, Michael; stepdaughter, Laurie; step grandson, Jackson; three brothers, Stephen (Debbie), Gregory (Diane), and Geoffrey (Barbara); and nephews, Ryan (Amy), Joseph (Larissa), Zachary, Sebastian, and Dominic.
