
Walt was born in Centralia, Washington on December 16th, 1948. He was the middle son of Cleon Ross and Wanda Taylor Linderman. Walt and his two brothers, Charles and Robert, grew up helping their parents run the family businesses, while they enjoyed playing sports in the community. After the early passing of Cleon, the boys and Wanda built a home on the Oregon coast. Walt served in the US Army with distinction earning the Bronze Star for Valor in Combat Operations in Vietnam. After returning home, Walt graduated from Northrop University in Southern California where he attained his Aeronautical Engineering Degree, and went on to get his A&P license.
Walt went to work for Rockwell in Southern California, where in1976 he met Kathy Thomas, whom he married in October 1977. They had three children, Dennis, Robert and Angela. Walt enjoyed a varied career from Foxboro, to Thousand Trails and Disney. In 1991, Walt & Kathy moved their family to Oregon where they purchased their first Servpro franchise. Walt was a successful businessman, but his passion was his family. He enjoyed coaching baseball and softball for all three children, and spending weekends at the family home on the Oregon coast. Walt will be remembered for his sense of humor, his strong work ethic and his ability to instill knowledge in others. He was committed to making a difference in peoples lives with his values in work matching his values in life.
Walt is survived by his wife Kathy, his children Dennis, Robert and Angela, his daughters-in-law Tessa and Misty, and his brother Charles. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday August 29th at 1 pm in the Servpro of Tigard office at 6713 SW Bonita Road, Suite C 270, Tigard, 97224. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Prostate Cancer Research Institute or Fisher House Foundation. His compassion, intelligence, humor, energy and love for his family and friends will be missed.
