Chaplain!! How I miss you already...kind, compassionate, quick with your heart warming smile.  You are a gentleman's gentleman, an honored hero, a true friend...one of a kind!!  My prayers are with your family and the many people who were lucky to know you, to call you friend, to serve our country with you. May His peace be with all who love and miss you. I am proud to say how you have touched my life.

We were blessed to have Mr. Claude in our extended family when his granddaughter married my son. 
 Mr. Claude always had a kind word, wore a smile, and could tell great stories. 
I will never forget when he called to tell me how much he enjoyed my potato salad! 
He was a delight person to have in our lives and will be greatly missed.

Though I only met Claude a few times his bold personality, his charm and his ready smile are the first to come to mind when his name is mentioned.  He did not seem to live timidly but went boldly in this world finding and sharing joy and adventure wherever he could find it.  There was always a story of Claud's adventures when Laura came to work.  I hope the stories of his life delight you always and that you can find some comfort in them as you grieve his passing.

May it comfort you to know that friends are thinking , praying and sending love to both of you.  Losing a Dad is a tremendous loss and words are hard to find when hoping to console. I didn't know your Dad Lolly, but knowing you is enough. Those apples don't fall far from the tree. Your love and admiration were so apparent and I am so happy that you had the privilege to share his stories , be the daughter and friend you were and to care for him during his time of need.  Cherish your memories and know he lives through you and in your heart. May God give you peace, strength, and comfort during this most difficult time of grief.

Dear Sadie is happy once more to have her beloved Claude with her. Elsie & Lefty, Netty & Al are laughing at Claude's jokes while they are playing poker once again. What great times they all had! Our hearts and deepest sympathy go out to Laura, John, Ron and families. What a remarkable man my Uncle Claude was! Such a strong, vibrant, loving and caring person who will be dearly missed. I will always cherish the memories of Uncle Claude and my Dad playing their harmonicas together. What a team they made. He was a good man and we loved him very much!!

We loved seeing Claude through the years. He had a wonderful spirit, and made others happy just by being in his presence. Everyone who met and knew him is a better person for it.
