Eunice Marie Hunter was the fourth of nine children born of the late Nelson Mc Millan, Sr. and the late Ollie Mae McMillan. “Tweety” or “Euntico” as she was affectionately known was born on January 27, 1947 in Glen Rogers, West Virginia. She departed this life entering eternal rest on March 31, 2020. Proceeding her in death was her oldest brother, Nelson Mc Millan, Jr. and sister Margo Mc Millan.
Eunice received her education at Hereford High School in Parkton, MD. Upon graduation, she briefly worked for Westinghouse. She later transitioned to employment at Becton Dickinson where she worked over 30 years until her retirement.
Eunice was baptized into Christ at her home church, Isaiah Baptist Church in Monkton, Maryland where she remained a faithful servant. She was an active member who was well known for the homemade goody bags put together for the all the youth (and adults!) for every special occasion. Eunice was an avid singer and a proud member of the senior choir. Her family and congregation looked forward to hearing her angelic voice singing “Higher Ground.” She was also a faithful member of the usher board and her smiling face greeted and welcomed all upon entrance to the sanctuary.
Eunice loved crafting and nurturing others. She was extremely passionate about making flower arrangements for special events or just to brighten someone’s day. She also made wreaths and completed numerous projects with children in the family, most notably dying Easter eggs during Holy week for the annual church Easter egg hunt. Eunice loved to shop for her children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Eunice loved to cook and often made special requests for family and friends. Eunice was a caring and gentle person whose soft voice and southern draw comforted those around her.
Eunice leaves to cherish her memory: her two children Joseph McMillan and Myshel Hunter Smith, three brothers: Matt Mc Millan (Gwen), Ray McMillan, and Lorenzo McMillan (Alice); three sisters: Lillie Hatcher, Penny McMillan, Tracey Glaze; five grandchildren: Rebekah McMillan, Kimmie McMillan, Hunter Smith, Walker Smith, Christian Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and devoted friends.
