I'm glad I was able to know Jeremy during my time at Cockeysville middle & Parkville high school.
I was very lonely during that time & so knowing him & the others that were part of our group really helped me.
I apologize for not keeping up.
My mental health & social skills throughout those years was very poor.
Jeremy as a friend & classmate did much by simply being there even if we didn't keep up or do much together. I remember once inviting him to one of my birthdays. & going to a few of his.
He & the others really did help me through my school years.

Dear Connie and all other family members of Jeremy,  
I am so sorry for you in your loss of Jeremy.   He was such a wonderful young man, and your love for him was clearly abundant.  I hope you find some peace in seeing all of the ways that he continues to touch your lives and the lives of others.

Dear Connie and family, I so enjoyed the first time I met Jerry at the Hussman Center--he was promoting--and modeling for others--elements of a business model.   He was clearly invested in the success of his activities and glad to share his knowledge with others.   I understand that this was his "mode" --engaging with others, learning, enjoying a wide range of activities, and sharing wonderful experiences. Connie and family,
I am so very sorry for this tremendous loss. I did not know Jerry well, but had interacted with him several times and regarded him as a sweet and sincere guy - a wonderful role model for others as the HCAA. I wish I had gotten to know him better - from the obituary and these comments, he was clearly a gem. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Jerry is the reason I know Connie...we connected on some random website about Lord of the Rings and discovered that we both had kids on the autism spectrum.  Jerry was a gentle, sweet person with a great heart and beautiful soul.   When he was younger, he had the most beautiful soprano voice and loved to sing along with the song his mother and I created about hobbits.  He was unfailingly cheerful and optimistic.  The world is a poorer place without him.   My heart is broken for Connie and her family. 

I knew Jerry... I once watched him while my and his mother sat in the parlor writing songs about Middle Earth and cackling heartily. He was a warm glowing light, instantly loveable, and wonderfully inquisitive. 

He wanted to take a bubble bath in our Jacuzzi tub... I told him, "don"t add any more bubbles and don't turn the jets on." He did the opposite. Needless to say, his first foam party was in our house that night.

I wish there was something I could say or do to ease the profound sadness and grief in your hearts right now. Just know that Jeremy has positively influenced many people, including those he never met. His work at the Hussman Center and his advocacy had an enormous impact on the Autism community.  Jeremy also helped thousands to better understand people with Autism through his influence on Connie and her work. I hope some comfort can come from knowing what a huge impact your family has had on so many lives. 
You are in my heart and my thoughts. 


This is so heartbreaking. Jeremy was one of my most brilliant students when I taught at Parkville High School. He was so caring  and understanding  with his classmates who struggled emotionally. He was always giving his friends good advice. He was an active participant in the school district's Autism Panel. He won first prize in the school  district's essay writing contest.  I learned so much from Jeremy. His family has  always been a strong advocate for him. Jeremy's family was most important to him. He will always have a special place in my heart.

Jerry was an inspiration to others through his interactions and accomplishments. I hope that the support of friends and family bring comfort.

I had known Jerry since he was eight.  He was a sweet child, and a caring young man.  And he had a family that loved each other dearly.  I have many fond memories of attending Shore Leave with the Andersons, and the fun that was had by all.  I remember going hiking with Connie, Jerry and Jesse in the woods around their home, and playing with the dogs in the common.  I am privileged to have known Jerry.  My heart breaks for you.

We are devastated to hear that Jerry has passed away. We are so sorry for your huge loss.
Jerry and our daughter Andrea were born within six months of each other, and Jerry was Andrea's first friend. They spent happy playtimes together in Los Angeles. I think the photo is from Jerry's birthday, when we joined in the celebrations together with Connie's mum and sister.

I recall visiting you in Los Angeles when Jesse was just a couple months old. While you were feeding and putting Jesse to bed, Jerry showed me his room and his blocks .  Even at that young age he was already designing buildings with them. Of course then he had as much fun knocking them down as he did building towers.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. There are no words that can capture the feelings associated with the loss of a child. I can only hope that your fond memories of Jerry will give you peace as you navigate this terribly tragic time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Although I never met Jeremy in person, I always loved hearing about him and what he was up to. I could tell he was a warm young man with a big heart. He definitely left an impression on me that will stay in my memory and in my memory, his spirit and soul live day after day. Thank you Jeremy for making this world a better place. 

We always called Jeremy "Jerry" at home, and he was this center of warmth, and laughter, and love at the heart of it. He loved to be in his "cave," with his history books and his video games, voraciously reading about everything from World War II to obscure Japanese anime on his PC. He was always so kind, so helpful and generous, and gave the warmest, most comforting hugs. My specific memory here was of our amazing trip to Sanibel Island in summer '16. It was a new place for us, and we had so much fun exploring the beaches, the little shops, the Shell Museum, and the wildlife sanctuary with the roseate spoonbills--these crazy looking pink birds. In the photo, we're at the Island Cow, a famous island eatery. We were always four whether at home or on our adventures... we will still be four, because he will be in our hearts forever and anything else is unimaginable.

I will always remember Jeremy sitting in the front row of my Protestant Reformation class this spring.  His love and passion for learning, knowledge, and scholarship were unconditional and genuine.  It is such a tragedy that he is gone so soon.

I am devastated. I will miss my history conversations with Jerry. He was a beloved participant at the Hussman Center, a wonderful self-advocate, and an amazing young man. Sending love to his family and  condolences from me personally and from all of us here at HCAA.
