Dear Earle, I just read the passing of your mother and I am deeply sorry. Your mother and my mother were best friends for decades before time and distance separated them. Your father use to accompany me on my consultations when we went to New York, Pa., etc. I also miss them. Your family will be in my prayers. Waine Kirby ( mom was Shirley Kirby-she passed in 2012)

I've lost my sister, when I was young she was my protector, taught me how to ride a bike, how to swim,  to dance, even shoot a little pool!.  Thru all the years she has always been there.  I will miss her!  Other family members will miss her even more, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter and wife, the best sister-in-law ever!  For her friends she was always there, always giving, willing to do her share and more.  There is some thing, some warm feeling missing in my life, and if you are reading this, some thing, some warm and fuzzy feeling is missing in yours.......

She was always there to volunteer her time, such as dressing up as a clown or Mrs. Claus to visit children in the hospital.  Joan will be dearly missed.  Sharon Edge

Joe and I are so sorry for the loss of your mom. We have fond memories of Mamma Pope through the years and will always remember her leading us in song during the bridal march as she sang  "Rawhide," at your wedding reception. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the girls at this time.

My memories of Joan Pagano go back to St. Edwards School we were in the same class for most of our 8 years there, we graduated in 1949  Later in life we both worked through our careers in the Engineering Department of the Bell Atlantic Co. now Verizon. Rest in peace Joan.

Joan worked tirelessly with the Pioneers of America Organization volunteering her time for their charitable projects.  Among those were the MD School for the Blind and the Kennedy Krieger Institute. In addition she played Mrs. Claus at the malls, worked with two inner city schools each year promoting education and providing supplies for underprivileged children.  She led bingo parties with treats to nursing homes and also entertained children in hospitals dressed as a clown making balloon toys for them.  Pioneers of America had many fundraisers each year and once again Joan stepped up to the plate.  She organized bus trips, flea markets, crab feasts, bull roasts, bingos and cookouts.  Due to her outstanding communication and leadership skills she was asked to become president of the Pioneers of America and later as a result of her many contributions she earned a place in the Hall of Fame, a National Award.  She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother.  She was also an avid golfer, bowler, all around local sports fan and most importantly, a great yard sale buddy.  I am very proud to call her my best friend.
