Joan Wilhelmsen Vaillancourt

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Wilhelmsen Vaillancourt, who died peacefully on August 9, 2025, at the age of 93. A loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, Joan will be remembered for her unwavering love of family. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland J. O. Vaillancourt and the proud mother of Greg D. Vaillancourt (Amy), John A. Vaillancourt, and David A. Vaillancourt (Liz). She was also a devoted sister to Nina W. Swain and Edwina W. Rusch.

Joan’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren, Kirsten Vaillancourt (Samuel Preston), Christopher Vaillancourt, Liza Vaillancourt, and Patrick Vaillancourt, whom she absolutely adored.

A true social butterfly, Joan loved socializing with her friends and exploring the world through her extensive travels. Her adventurous spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Community at Charlestown, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228 on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10 to 11 after which a Mass will celebrated at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed in Joan’s memory to Charlestown Residence Benevolent Care Fund, 719 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228.
