I just saw this -- so sorry for your loss.  Mr. Sergi was my AP calculus teacher in 1972, and he changed my life.  He will be remembered as long as I am alive, and my five children know of my debt to him a well.  We also played basketball at the Dulaney gym a few times; he made the world a better place.

I am very sorry for your loss. I would like to share a memory from Jan 1978, Dulaney High. It was the middle of my senior year, and my family was moving to Northern California. Mr. Sergi knew how upset I was, and he said it was a long shot, but he offered to petition the Board of Education to grant me a diploma from Dulaney, graduate on stage and go to the prom. He made it all happen!! I was able to thank him in person at the prom. It has been 44 years; I have never forgotten his kindness. Cheryl Cullen, Dulaney class of 1978.

Lou shaped and mentored me through high school.  I never realized his impact till many years after I had graduated but never have forgotten his patience and dedication to his work at DHS.  RIP peace my friend

Sadness, sadness, sadness is all that I can say. I used to look forward to our 11:00 a.m. study halls where we would discuss the Colts and the Orioles , not so much scholastic matters, but important nevertheless. Other than my father, he is the most influential person in my life, speaking up for me once when he thought that I had been wronged, and for which he had nothing to gain. A man of kindness and goodness whose spirit lives with me to this day. 
I’ll see you on the other side, Mr. Sergi.

Lou was the kindest, loving man I have ever met.  Each person whose life he touched felt special, worthy and enough.  You will be missed dear man. Rest in your peace.

I'm so sad that the best teacher I ever had has passed away.  Lou Sergi touched the lives of thousands of students during his many years of teaching.  He taught me math at Towson High School in 1961 and 1962.  I was fortunate enough to go on to West Point after THS and graduate in 1966 near the top of my West Point class.  I served 27 years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, retiring in 1993 with the rank of Colonel.  I taught math at the U.S. Air Force Academy 1971-1974.  I owe Lou Sergi for fostering my interest in mathematics and engineering.  He was a GREAT teacher and motivator.  GOD BLESS HIM!  May he rest in peace.

I happened to see this, so sorry for the family’s loss. I had “Mr. Sergi” for Calculus at Dulaney, and in large part because of him I got a degree in mathematics. Thank you Mr. Sergi for sharing your love of Mathematics with so many.
