Born in Boston, MA, Margaret was the eldest daughter of the late Guy Silvio and Sally (Gianino) Silvio. She was pre-deceased by her husband Larry of 54 years. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne (Emery) Caruso and her husband Christopher of Eldersburg, MD, a son, Patrick Emery and his wife Kathleen of Royersford, PA, four grandchildren: Spencer, Sean, Shelby and Meghan, and two sisters Marie Rafferty of FL and Midge Silvio-Williamson of ME.
Margaret loved traveling with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed reading and crafting in her younger years. She made everything fun with playing games, singing, being silly and coming up with fun things to do. Margaret made holidays special with family gatherings, festive decorations and special foods for the occasion. She always loved to spend time with her family and was always available to care for her grandchildren when needed. She made visiting with grandma fun whether it was sneaking favorite snacks into the movies, dressing up for Halloween, having a tea party, baking cookies, or one of the many other ideas she came up with.
Margaret was one of those people who could make a friend anywhere. She’d often strike up a conversation with a stranger while in line at the grocery store, riding on public transportation with her grandchildren or while eating at a restaurant.
Margaret stayed home with her children while they were young and later went on to become a pre-school teacher. Over the years, she enjoyed volunteering her time at Olivia’s House and pulling together shoe boxes of goodies for soldiers and backpacks of supplies for children. At Christmas she and her husband enjoyed playing ‘Secret Santa’ by going to Walmart and Target to pay off the layaway orders for others.
She will truly be missed by all that knew her.
