Sally was a beacon of joy. She was born and raised in Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Art degree. During this time she also met the love of her life and fellow Michigan State graduate, Dick Spinner. They went on just one date before Dick knew she was the one and proposed. While he served as a U.S. Naval Aviator they would move state to state where, in four different states, they had their four children. While in Long Island, NY they became quite fond of camping and joined the National Campers and Hikers Association. Sally also enjoyed gardening, painting, and anything else she could do to let her creativity shine. She was a jack of all trades; working as a nursery school teacher, bus driver, graphic artist, and even a saleswoman later in life when the family moved to Maryland. She sold everything from cars to travel trailers to horse trailers. She developed many more hobbies throughout her life such as fishing, hunting, and football. She loved her Baltimore Ravens and never missed a game. Sally had a bleeding heart that led to a deep love for animals. There were always dogs and cats in her home and she held a special place in her heart for her beloved “Scoobie”. Later in life Sally and Dick moved into Mercy Ridge in Timonium, Maryland where they resided for the last 18 years together. Sally became very involved in the various activities Mercy Ridge had to offer such as swimming, board games, and any chance to showcase the artist within her, truly living her life to the fullest. A proud Wife, Mom, Grandmom and NanNan, Sally loved nothing more than her family. Any time she had the majority of them together, it was a true blessing. She loved birthdays the most and worked so hard to get everyone together for a group birthday party. This consisted of baking everyone their own individual cakes so everyone felt special. She is dearly and deeply missed by so many.
The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM. A visitation will take place at the Stella Maris Chapel on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 9:30 AM until 10 AM at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
