Born on October 30, 1932, to parents Guillame Theodore Lemaire and Annie Arnolda Rijanders of Semarang, Indonesia.
As a young girl, Yvonne grew up experiencing the Japanese occupation of Indonesia, before, and during World War II. Before that, Indonesia was a Dutch colony, and she was born a Dutch citizen. During her young life, she survived many tropical diseases and suffered malnutrition which led to her petite stature. She was a survivor.
Yvonne later met her future husband Ronald von Kriegenbergh, and they married in 1954. They raised seven children. After the birth of their first child Melvin, they immigrated to the Netherlands. They had two more children while in the Netherlands, Yvonne and Walter. They ultimately immigrated to the United States and had four more children, Wilma, Janice, Carl, and Edith.
Yvonne was a gifted seamstress, making clothes for herself and her children. Even until her passing at age 90, she was creating clothing and doing alterations for herself and others. In midlife she worked as a home health aide.
She had a passion to serve and help people in need. What truly defined Yvonne was her love for Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She studied her bible diligently every day, took notes and was always prepared to offer a family member or friend spiritual food and encouragement. She was a giver. She suffered many hardships in life but learned to be adaptable and content in any circumstance, hoping those around her would do the same and providing inspiration by example. She was a patient, kind, and loving friend to many. She had a wonderfully silly sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She will be greatly missed.
Yvonne von Kriegenbergh was predeceased by her parents, G. Theo Lemaire and Annie Lemaire, her husband Ronald von Kriegenbergh, her brothers Richard Lemaire and George Lemaire, grandsons Joshua von Kriegenbergh and Eric von Kriegenbergh and son Melvin von Kriegenbergh.
She is survived by her sisters, Jeanne Smit and Cella Lemaire, by her daughters, Yvonne von Kriegenbergh, Wilma Valiquette (spouse Paul), Janice Rasher (spouse Nick), and Edith von Kriegenbergh, sons, Walter von Kriegenbergh and Carl von Kriegenbergh (spouse Nancy), her grandchildren, Marc von Kriegenbergh, Gregory Valiquette, Brooke Valiquette, Sydney Rasher, James Rasher, Taylor von Kriegenbergh, Joshua Bruers and great grandchildren Mason Jones, Ivy Nagle, Sawyer Nagle, Max von Kriegenbergh, and Vivian von Kriegenbergh.
