

She was born in Toledo on October 16, 1931 to Gray and Margaret (Raitz) Houston.
Betty was a graduate of the University of Toledo, majoring in education. She was a Spanish and Drama teacher
at Whitmer High School for over 30 years. Betty also coached the debate teams at Washington and Jefferson Jr. High School.
She was an avid photographer, displaying her photos at Toledo Botanical Gardens.
Betty was a member of Toledo Photo Arts Club, Toledo Civic Chorus and a lifetime
member of St Clement Catholic Church.
One of her passions was traveling the world, including the Orient, Europe, Asia and Mexico.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Gray and Margaret (Raitz) Houston.
She is survived by her cousins, Jack Rang, Ann Danford, Jane Beehner, Mary Jo (Kelly) Gill and Nancy (Joe) Voorhees.
Friends and family may visit H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home 3219 Tremainsville Rd. (419-473-1301) on
Monday, October 8 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Mass of the Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday at St Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd.
Memorial contributions may be given to St Clement Church.
