

George Dick, 84, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully at 12:17 A.M. Wednesday, July 25 at Toledo Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family. George arrived in the world on December 7, 1927. As a youth, he enlisted in the Navy (WWII) and as a Marine in the Korean War. In the late forties he married his wife Carrie and started a family. A painting contractor with his son Jimmy for nearly 50 years, he also found time to operate chesterfield Laundry on Secor Rd. George enjoyed piloting his own planes, trips to the cottage on the lake, and constant remodeling of his homes and rental properties. On a personal note, he was a terrific man, very generous, loved his dogs, and will be a great loss to all who knew him.
He is survived by sister, Shirley Kaminski; son, Jimmy (Lucy) Dick; daughters, Gayla (Don) Bockbrader and Kelly (Michael) Kersey; grandchildren, Jamie, Patrick, Holly (Jay) Matthews, Kristin (Rob) Martin and Kari; great grandchildren, Madison, Finn, Luke and Megan Anaple. George was preceded in death by his wife, parents and 4 sisters. Apologies to all friends and relatives omitted.
Visitation for George will be at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home (419-473-1301) 3219 Tremainsville Rd. on Sunday, July 29 from 1:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will Begin Monday at 10:00 A.M.
