He and your mom were regulars in my water class on Fridays at the Y.  Both were an absolute delight.  Your mom was so good natured.  Your dad was always brightening the morning with his smile.  Glad they are eternally reunited.  Your mom has been missed.  Now we will miss your dad.  Prayers for you as you grieve and celebrate.

Dear Kris and Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. Lisa I have moved from Woodland Avenue to Oak Harbor and we just don't get news fast enough. Your mom and dad were neighbors and friends. I used to do plumbing work for them and your dad would always amaze me with the incredible woodworking projects in the basement! He was truly a wonderful and interesting man. We are very sorry for your loss.

What a great guy, to meet Harold was to love the him at the same time! As a firefighter he was a notable character and surely missed by all that knew him!

I just saw you at the YMCA. I talked to you and hugged you and got to see your great smile.I listened while you told me the story of watching something funny on television and then looking over to Jackie's chair and she wasn't there. I am so glad I was able to share those few moments with you. I didn't know it would be the last time we would see each other or I would have run out to your car and told you how much it meant to me to have you and Jackie come in to Holiday Park. You always brightened my day. I miss you two so much. It's hard to find such caring good people. I am honored to have had you as my friends.

I went to high school with Harold and Jackie.  We remained friends thru "club" which was girls from Class of 1951 Libbey High School.  Many of us married classmates and the marriages were strong just as your parents.  I was sad when your mother passed and know Harold missed her.  He was a great caregiver.  Sad to learn another classmate is gone.  You children were fortunate to have your parents and now they are together once again.  God Bless.

Another great Firefighter, gone to early. Harold always had a great smile on his face, whenever I saw him and I enjoyed sending him e-mails, that I knew he would enjoy. Rest in peace Harold, your in a much better place now, than we are in this Country the way it is headed. We lived in the best of times and it was great knowing you.

I worked at the Speedway in Maumee, he was a regular of mine. I loved him, he always made my day coming in and this breaks my heart. He even made me a rocking chair when I told him I was learning how to knit. I am so sorry for your loss. Praying for the family.

I came to know Harold through the senior center. What a very pleasant man. I enjoyed his stories of TFD and his sense of humor. I was shocked to hear of his passing, considering I just spoke with him on Tuesday. May his memory be eternal.

We were planning our annual June visit.  I'm so sad. What a great friend.  Many wonderful Memories.

Harold was one of my first officers in 1976.  He was a great firefighter and a gentleman.  He will be missed.

I was sorry to hear of his death.  He was a friend and a good man.  My condolences to his family.

Truly a lifelong companion and friend from Walbridge grade school up to now with Harold's passing and just recently exchanged our last email together.  

A wonderful man, always fun to be around and always with the big smile and quick with a good word for you.  Super talented at everything he decided he wanted to do, especially with woodworking and likely a result of his incredible skill as a tool and die maker in his early years.

We were constant companions along with our friends Donald Friend and Charlie Suhr.  Dragged him out of bed to play all the games as kids, climbed the trees, walked the trestle bridges, slid on cardboard in summer and sleds in winter on the trestle and Libbey hills, ice skated in winter and swam in summer at Highland Park, harvested our neighbors fruit trees and buckeye trees, played cowboys and indians with bb guns, chased the girls, jumped into Swan creek,  broke our collar bones at the same time, hung around and talked endlessly at Heinies and the bowling alley, and at Tate's then going to the Bijou movies, played golf at the State sanitarium, joined the sea scouts together.  And much much more.

We attended most of Libbey reunions through the years and even though there were years in between Harold and Jackie were always just as though we left them the day before, friendly, chatty, and always happy.  

We are saddened at losing Harold and pray God will be with the family in their time of grief and sorrow.
