I am so very sorry for the loss of your son.  I can’t imagine your sorrow.  I didn’t know Josh is but I know several people who are part of your congregation. They love the family and have great respect for you.  Joshua’s short life was filled with love and fun. 

To the Young Family:

We live in Erie, PA. Although we never met Josh, we heard of the accident through your family here in Erie. Our hearts are saddened by your loss. Only through Jesus, can we rest and hold on when this happens. We are continuing to pray for your entire family.  Be strong in your family and friends who will surround you and the grace of the Lord. Those chubby cheeks (that had started to thin out) on his sweet freckled face brought such sunshine!  A treasured picture, to be sure!  Looking forward to seeing that again with the Lord <3

I remember when we were first going to heritage and we were invited to the church family picnic at the Ciampis.  Pastor you came to talk with me and get to know a little about me and my family. I remember you carrying Joshua in that baby backpack.   You were a baby wearer.  Something I could truly understand and appreciate being a baby wearer myself.  There weren't alot of Daddy baby wearers out there.  Joshua was a solid little man and he just sat in there looking around comfortable because his Daddy was carrying him and he didn't seen to have a worry in the world.  In that moment it left an impression on me that this church was genuine and that the Daddies served their families.  It meant alot.    Thank you for sharing your family with us and we will miss this precious little boy.

Josh, you beat me home, and I can just see you wrinkle up your freckled little nose when I get there and imagine you saying "what took you so long, Mr. Dales ?" I loved when you would come eat lunch with Mrs. Dales and you blessed her day and warmed her heart when you did. What a joy it will be when we who love the Lord as you do, Josh,  gather 'round the table of the King ! See you later, buddy. 
"But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." 1Cor. 2:9 

At the camp out while waiting for everyone to get back from the creek to unlock the trailer so he could change out of his wet clothes, he came up to the fire pit cold and shivering, jokingly he told us he wished he could jump in the coals. so I gave him my shawl and Anna started a fire to warm him up. Although this is the only interaction I can remember and for which I’m thankful to God for, whenever I seen him at church he always had the sweetest face with all those cute freckles and the best smile. He will be greatly missed. We are grieving with you and you all are in our prayers. May we rest in knowing who God is. May He bring you peace and comfort amidst the pain of your loss. We love you. Keep faith and keep your feet on the foundation of Gods truth. 

47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. My last distinct memory with Josh was at the graduation party a few days before the accident. 
He wanted to be taller than me...and standing on an object he thought he was, but we measured and he was still shorter. I started to walk away, but he didn’t give up as he climbed onto someone’s shoulders or a taller object. Over top of the people in between  us now I looked back at him as he shouted “Hey Gabby! I’m taller than you now.” With a spark in his eyes and a great smile full of fun that told me he beat me. 
Special Josh...we will all miss him. I’ll miss the Mischievous twinkle in his eye while playing and having fun with me or anyone, and his special, beautiful laugh. 

I will miss seeing him run around this next family camp...  with his bright smile, running and playing... having fun with the other boys. 

I am so sorry for you guys... I weep with you... and I am praying for each of you.

Josh was a really sweet little boy. He was always a really easy kid to talk to and was happy to talk about pretty much anything, anytime. 

Josh always had a great big smile on his face that I will never forget. It is that wonderful smile that I remember most now. 

About a month before the accident my brother and I went over to the Young’s. They had a mama goat that wasn’t letting her babies nurse. Pastor Young put the mama goat on their milk stand and we tried to get the babies to drink. I was on one side of the mama goat holding a baby and helping it nurse while Josh and Celia were standing right behind me—watching. Then something funny happened (I can’t remember what exactly, the baby goat did something they found amusing) all I remember is turning my head around and laughing with Josh, all the while thinking how much I loved his great big smile.

Even though his years were cut short according to man’s timetable, I feel certain that his memory will last for many, many years to come. 

Josh was a precious child and I greatly enjoyed the years God gave us to get to know him. I grieve with your family at his passing, but find hope in the fact that I, along with all the saints will worship God with him in glory one day. What a wonderful day that will be!

To the Young family- we love you. We mourn with you. We pray for you. And we rest in His promises. I wish I had gotten to know Joshua personally. I look forward to the day that I will get the chance.

Joshua was a precious little boy. Always so bubbly and full of joy. I will miss his cute little smile and his freckles. I will miss him coming up to me on Sundays and saying hi mrs. Guy or just standing next to me waiting for me to say hi first.
I am blessed to have known him.

Joshua was a special little boy. It was very cute and special when I would come to church on Sunday he would try to tell me about his week but said it's so fast that sometimes Benjamin would have to translate for me. I will miss Joshua very much he was such a blessing.


Joshie was a sweet, friendly boy who loved his brothers and sisters, especially the babies.  Very talkative and helpful. He rode his bike through the desert like a pro and never wanted to wear shoes. Nana and Pop will miss you, Josh.  We will see you later for eternity!

When your brother Ben was born you said, "he will my friend". 
You were a good friend to us all.
