Bonnie Lea Blume passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025. She was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Essex County and later relocated to Shelter Cove, where she married her late husband of 36 years, Kim.
Bonnie dedicated her life to public service through a distinguished career in law enforcement. She proudly retired as the first female Deputy Chief for the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and was a graduate of the FBI Academy. Following her tenure there, she continued her commitment to community safety, working with the Dover Township Police Department and the Mayor’s Office, where she played a key role in earning accreditation for both offices.
Bonnie will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to family and friends, and her deep love for her furry companions. Her trailblazing career and her generous spirit leave a lasting legacy in the community she served so faithfully.
She is survived by all her nieces and nephews and preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kim
Bonnie’s life will be held privately, and in place of flowers, donations may be made to the Popcorn Park Zoo.
