Carl W. Nicolini, 72, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, March 30, 2026, at his home in Whiting, NJ after a 15-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Carl was born on June 12, 1953, in Toms River, NJ to his parents, Reno and Mary, where he lived until he moved to Manchester, NJ in 1976 with his wife Donna and started a family to include 3 children: a son, Steven, born in 1978, and identical twin girls, Cara and Antoinette (Toni) born in 1982. He graduated from Monmouth University in 1975 with a degree in Business Administration and worked many years at J.F. Kiely Construction Company as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) before retirement. He also became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1985 and took care of his clients as if they were family. In 2014, he met his current loving wife, Deborah and they married on March 6, 2020.
Carl enjoyed working on many home improvement projects for his family and friends. He was an avid pheasant hunter and could be found on most weekends at Colliers Mills with his loyal Brittany Spaniel, Lance. He helped bring Pop Warner to Manchester and coached football for many years. In addition, he dedicated approximately 40 years to the Manchester Township Little League, as a coach and umpire, while also serving as their treasurer. He is remembered as a tough, but fair coach who loved to help the athletes of Manchester Township strive to reach their full potential. His love for sports can also be seen in the large New York Yankee memorabilia collection that he accumulated over his lifetime. In his later years, he worked tirelessly with Deborah to restore his beloved ‘56 Chevy Bel Air and they attended many classic car shows to display their hard work. Additionally, they were fortunate enough to visit numerous islands which revived his life-long love of travel.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Britton-Nicolini; children, Steve Nicolini, Cara Nicolini, and Antoinette (Toni) Nicolini; stepsons, James Knorr, Jr and Steven Britton (Jodi); stepdaughters Brenda Barsch (Kurt) and Michelle Falk (Eric); step-grandchildren, Ian Knorr, Alivia Britton and Gabe Falk; sister, Nancy Fawkes (Nicolini); as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Reno E Nicolini; mother, Mary E Nicolini (Liuzzo), former wife of 28 years and mother of his children, Donna L Nicolini (Koller), as well as numerous other family, in-laws and close friends.
A viewing will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home at 703 Main St in Toms River on Saturday, April 4 from 2pm-5pm. A prayer service will take place at 4:30pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carl’s memory to the Manchester Township Little League (P.O. Box 216, Lakehurst, New Jersey 08733) or the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (www.michaeljfox.org).
The family would like to give special thanks to Joy Bringers Home Health Care and Holisticare Hospice for the care and compassion they provided during this difficult time.
