Charles Autenrieth, 70, of Toms River, died Thursday, July 11. He was a former Dover Township Zoning Officer and Ocean County Construction Inspection Liaison before his retirement in 2003. He graduated from Toms River High School in 1967 and attained an Associate Degree from Ocean County College. Charles was a member of the United States Air Force serving from 1969 to 1976. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed many days on the water with his friends and family. He had a passion for practical jokes. Between taking care of his beloved English Springer Spaniels and cooking for loved ones, he filled his days with fur, fun, fish, and food. He freely gave to others in the form of time, consultation, and lapidary.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years Susan, his brother Mark and his wife Diane Autenrieth of Toms River, two daughters Petra Autenrieth of Toms River and Cynthia and her husband Colin Kelly of Bayville. Charles has three grand children, Keriann, Kylan, and Chenzia.
There will be visitation from 10-12pm on Monday 7/22/19 followed by a funeral mass and repast held at Christ Episcopal Church, 415 Washington St., Toms River.
